Learn ExpressionEngine Today

Over a series of 8 videos, watch and learn as Ryan builds an entire ExpressionEngine website from beginning to end. Get started now.

New, free e-commerce add-on

EESuite is a new ExpressionEngine 2 add-on that allows you to “start selling premium digital goods or member subscriptions from your website.” Some of the features listed on the website are:

  • Memberships
  • Digital Goods
  • Order Management
  • MSM support

From what I could tell from the videos, EESuite only supports PayPal in this initial free version. If you are exploring e-commerce options, you should definitely watch all 4 videos and get an idea of how the add-on works.

Here’s the first video that shows the process of managing products:

EE Insider has not yet tried or tested this module. EESuite is free and available now.

Im from the country where Paypal doesnt “believe” us currently.
I’ve searched for some script which will process payment via 2CO, but nothing…
At the end I programmed on my own smile

PS Why they developing this and for free, if in EE comes with Commerce module?

Deep17:17 on 09.14.2010

Hi Ken - More payment processors will be availble in PRO version, including 2Co, very soon.

The community edition is free, and limited in functionality and offers only Paypal as payment gateway.

The commerce module is not powerful to manage membership sites or offer restricted downloads. That’s where you need a dedicated module for ecommerce. But hey it will be more than just ecommerce smile

Hope this helps.

Looks interesting, Deep. Was working on building a module myself for selling add-ons (not that I’ve written many yet!). Will give this a go and see if it fits the bill.
