Jack McDade on Building With Structure
To compliment Travis’s excellent article on Structure yesterday. Jack McDade has posted a screencast on how to use it:

Structure sells for $65 and is available here.

Cool the Gipsy extension! I was looking for that feature.

This would have been great if there was an audio walkthrough describing each step.
It all happened a little too quickly which is great to show that Structure is very usable, but not so great if you wanted to learn about Structure for the first time.
Great music though - who is it?

To really learn Structure, this screencast would have been quite a bit longer—i wanted to show how quickly you can build with it. Perhaps it would have been a better “part 2” screencast. Travis Schmeisser will be doing a few intro/tutorial screencasts on http://buildwithstructure.com for that very purpose.
As for the music, it’s Shooglinifty.

Thanks for the reply Jack.
Glad to hear Travis will be doing some intro/tutorial screencasts. I’m very much a learn by watching & listening person, the eescreencasts really jumpstarted me when they came out.
I tried Structure when it first came out on a dev box but could not dedicate the time it needed due to work pressure - we call this a nice problem!

For me… I wish it was faster.

Jack,
Is it possible to use EE comments in conjunction with a structure page?
Jack McDade — 07:01 on 11.12.2009
Joe: Absolutely. You lose none of the built-in functionality.

This has peaked my interest in Structure even more. I really need to get on the ball and use it. Seems that it makes things a lot easier as far as making the whole site manageable by the client.
I agree with Johnnie that it all happened too quickly for anything to really sink in, but I understand that this was just a quick screencast to give you an idea of what can be done with Structure. All in all, great work!
