Marek Foss Turns On Auto-tweet
Marek Foss has written about automatically tweeting posts. He wrote a plugin to make it much easier.
What my AutoTweet basically does is, when called, checks your timeline for the given message and if it doesn’t exist – it tweets it. AutoTweet is also immune to URL changes, as they are stripped while performing a regular expression match against the timeline – this way there are no problems if the URL somehow gets shortened differently along the way.
Tweet away!

I have to ask: Why?
I tweet every new posting I make because some of my readers follow my twitter feed for exactly that reason. Granted, I’m lucky if I make more than two posts in a day, but still. Is there some unwritten rule that says it’s inappropriate to tweet new posts?

I post my posts on twitter too, but multiple posts per day is a bit much don’t you think?

No one has complained so far. They probably find it a relief from the otherwise inane and mundane tweets I post otherwise.
My point is this: It’s probably dependent on your audience and what you’re using Twitter for. Considering the varied uses people have come up with for Twitter it seems out of place to try and tell others how they should make use of it.

I have removed the offending text. Thanks for your input and for reading. We do appreciate it.
Cheers,
Kenny

I have updated the plugin to prevent repeated tweets of same post. Check http://f055.net/article/update-of-automatic-tweet-plugin-for-expression-engine/
