CM Template Editor

If you’ve been wanting to spice up the template editor textarea in the EE control panel, you might want to check out CM Template Editor. One of the nice things about it is that it will add line numbers to the textarea.

The extension uses the EditArea javascript, which you’ll need to download separately.

If you like to edit templates in the browser (or want to make it easier for your clients to do so), this might be an extension you want to check out.

I installed this and the best part for me is having line numbers in the control panel. Another nice feature is the ability to turn the editor on/off with a checkbox.

Definitely a useful extension for working on sites where you can’t edit templates in a text editor.

Glad someone found my tweet useful.

looks like a very good find.

I’ll give it a whirl on one of my sites.

WOW - so simple to install and works like a charm.

My normal workflow would be to develop my framework in Dreamweaver, testing in various browsers with sample content etc before importing into EE. I’ll probably stick with that but finding code blocks just got a whole load easier.
