EE 2 Screencasts: Get Notified and Save 10%
The next generation of the popular ExpressionEngine Screencasts, completely redone for EE 2, will be available starting next week. I’ve been working over the last several months planning the new screencasts and over the last month and a half recording, editing and exporting. We’re tying up loose ends and putting together a brand new site. And we’re excited.
Just like before, the screencasts will be full quality, downloadable videos that you can take with you and learn on your own time, offline or online. I put together a preview for you. View it here or watch the full version via the downloadable video.
EE 2 Screencasts Preview. Download the full version.
I want to make sure EE Insider readers are the first to know about it. If you want to be alerted to the availability of the ExpressionEngine 2 Screencasts and receive a coupon to save a little bit of cash, sign up below for the email notification list. Only subscribers to the list will get a coupon, so don’t forget to click Subscribe!
This offer is now over. The screencasts are available for purchase over at Mijingo. Thanks to everyone for signing up for a discount!
See you next week!

Will we be able to buy them as a package next week or are you releasing them one at a time?
Ryan Irelan — 07:04 on 08.11.2010
They will be released all at once and you can buy them as a package.

Exciting! It looks like we’ll be building a different theme than Engine City Times—Channel University—is that right? If so does it have any connection to the Engine City Times, like the school newspaper?

There isn’t any grand scheme but I like where you’re going with this!

Hey Ryan,
The email that comes to confirm the subscription comes from Mijingo @ createsend.
My first thought was, ‘great - one of my friends has signed me up for another stupid social web app (Mijingo sounds just like one of those….
You might want to mention that somewhere in your subscription box cause I nearly deleted the confirmation email - I DIDN’T sign up for any service called Mijingo - the only thing that made me not was because it was from createsend (Campaign Monitor) - and I generally trust brands that use CM.
I then checked the EE Insider website and noticed in the footer the Mijingo LLC - but that is the only reference I can see for it.
It was a fairly jarring experience anyway - and you nearly lost a subscriber (and I can’t be the only one) - and I nearly lost my discount
Cheers,

Will we be able to purchase that song on the video?
runaway — 14:37 on 08.11.2010
great! but I hope that is a really advanced tutorial! (like the part of the relationships and more…) because if its the same tutorial like “engine city times” but in the 2.0 with a web site example… not worth buy it.
Ryan Irelan — 14:41 on 08.11.2010
Kenny: Only people with Twitter accounts can purchase the song.
runaway: The screencasts are not advanced tutorials. They are meant to help people learn ExpressionEngine.
runaway — 15:19 on 08.11.2010
thanks, is a shame, advanced tutorials dont exist around… by example a good one that explain Playa add-on…
Jim — 20:00 on 08.11.2010
@runaway - Mike Boyink does some nice advanced tutes at Train-ee. I’m sure Ryan doesn’t mind the plug..
@anthony - respect to your pov; the “Mijingo” caught my attention too, but in the long run…yeah, discount baby.
@ryan - Anthony *does* have a point. Might be good to clarify if we’ve subscribed to you or to Mijingo. Also, maybe a link for the music - I’ve got an old twitter account…
Ryan Irelan — 04:45 on 08.12.2010
Sorry about the confusion with the email. Mijingo is my company name. I updated the confirmation email to be clearer.
The thing about the song and Twitter was a little joke and poke at Kenny. The song is from here: http://www.premiumbeat.com/

Is it a good screencast?
