EE Official Community Partners
Jamie Rumbelow kindly wrote up this summary of the EllisLab announcement of Community Partners:
—
EllisLab announced at the EECI conference today that the company will be opening up the community platform to provide support, technical help and financial backing for third-party comment sites.
EllisLab announced Official Community Partners for ExpressionEngine; third party sites that will receive official support from EllisLab to provide services to the EE community. Leslie Camacho, the president himself listed the first three sites to take advantage of this platform:
- Devot-ee, now the official add-on repository.
- Show-ee, the official showcase for EE sites
- ...and of course EE Insider, the official news site for EE
We are really happy about these new developments and hope to see more official community partners in the future.

I’m really glad to see EllisLab putting so much support behind their community. It will only foster more passion from the EE crowd, which is better for all. Congrats to those involved in the three sites announced as official community partners today!

I’m curious as to what “official support” actually entails. Money? Being more transparent with what EllisLab will be doing in the future? It’s certainly great that they’re supporting the community, I’m just wondering how exactly. =) Maybe details are yet to come.

Congrats on being the official news site - now I wish my ISP would stop blocking your site so I wouldn’t’ have to use a proxy to view it.

Awesome move from EllisLab! For a long time while Devot-ee have been struggling with problems I’ve been thinking that they really should support these guys who invest much of theirself to build a better community.
This is exactly the stuff that makes me believe I’ve chosen the right platform and community to work within.
Happy days!
