Learn ExpressionEngine Today

Over a series of 8 videos, watch and learn as Ryan builds an entire ExpressionEngine website from beginning to end. Get started now.

Looking for the EE 1.6 docs?

A lot of us are still working in EE 1.6 and referring to the documentation (even those of us that wrote a book on EE) but upon first glance the EE 1.6 docs are missing. After the site refresh the URL for the docs is now occupied by the new EE 2 docs.

Don’t fret, however, the docs aren’t hidden from you.

Ryan, don’t forget you can also update the URL to the docs within your 1.6.x Control Panel:

Admin > System Preferences > General Configuration > URL to Documentation Directory

I’ve gone through and updated in all my instances so the ‘User Guide’ in the links at the top of the CP interface bring up the legacy docs.

But searching through the docs only brings up the 2.1 version.

What’s *really* annoying is that since they use Google search, you can’t even search your LOCAL copy of the docs since its references the newer-but-wrong directory.

Jim

You can search your LOCAL copy with your favorite text editor or the terminal wink

(we’re in agreement on the frustration though)
