ExpressionEngine 2 TextMate Bundles

TextMate Icon Garrett Winder posted a new version of Chris Ruzin’s ExpressionEngine TextMate bundle, with updates for EE2.0 tags and syntax. This is a handy thing to have if you’re an EE developer, and TextMate’s phenomenal bundle support is what keeps people sticking with it.

But wait, there’s more! Garrett also linked to Wes Baker’s ExpressionEngine 2 TextMate Bundle on GitHub, saying it’s even “more feature-rich” than his own.

Hey readers, which one’s the best? Are there more that I don’t know about? Post up any ideas you have in the comments.

TextMate is nice, but bring on the Coda EE2 Mode!

I tried to build my own based off of Chris Ruzin’s 2006 EE1 Mode for Coda, but progress has been very slow as they can get quite involved.

For Expresso their is a Sugar available but the developer hasn’t made any updates since last year so no EE2 version yet.

All in time I imagine.

Yes, I also like Textmate very much, but somehow I just can’t let go of Coda’s seamless workflow. So, one more vote for the Coda EE2 mode! smile

+1 for Coda (until Textmate ships with built-in FTP)

+1 for Coda smile combined with Zen-coding and Mountee it’s a workflow-dream come too (my god did I just say workflow-dream? I feel like such a geek…)

I spent about 30 min with each, Wes Baker’s is a little more robust, including several path related and single tags.

One thing to note, the tab trigger context for Baker’s bundle would only work when I manually selected ‘ExpressionEngine’ in the language dropdown at the bottom of TM.

These are a huge time saver - thanks to both gents for putting these out there (and to their EE1 precedents).
