Drag ‘n’ Drop Template Group Sorting

Earlier today, EE add-on developer Lodewijk Schutte made a discovery in the EE 2 Control Panel: you can drag and drop sort template groups. I don’t ever remember seeing this before and, as Low points, out there’s no visual indicator that this is even possible.

I made a quick video to demonstrate:

If only we could move templates into different groups via drag and drop. Now THAT would get me excited.

Yeah, I discovered the sliding by accident when I was trying to figure out how to sort the group order in my first 2.x project. 2.x doesn’t have an obvious preference setting like 1.6.x does (“Edit Group Order”). Annoying as all get out trying to work with a long list of template groups, when you’re used to sorting them in 1.6.x.

EE should at least have a hint on the Template Manager page that you can drag-sort them.

I have to admit I found this one a while back, but well done Low for bringing it into the public eye!
