ExpressionEngine and The Multiplier Effect
Russ Lipton posted a document to the Community News forum that looks to be a pretty useful tool in explaining the benefits of ExpressionEngine to potential clients.
In it, I share my take on why so many people report accelerated design and development productivity using EE - framed in words suitable for intelligent, but perhaps non-technical, decision makers.
I know there have been times where a potential client of mine wanted some more information to look over and share at their company to explain why I might be recommending EE to them for their website. This is pretty handy!
I’d like to see this expanded even further, or put together with another document or two that explain some of the technical aspects a bit more (some decision makers are very technical folks). I hope Russ either does this or decides to license this document in a way that people can take it and expand on it. Either way, this is a great tool for the community!

Grateful and psyched for your post. This is an area where I’ve had experience over the years, even the name-dropping variety (but I won’t go there). I will be thrilled if I can meet/stimulate a felt need.
I agree that key decision-makers span the technical spectrum. Who we “sell to” re tech depth varies widely by industry, application type and client size. At least.
If you have a sec to comment: where do you feel more technical information could make a needed difference with such folks, whether related tightly to my piece or striking off in another direction? Feeback from others equally welcome.
I do have plans for additional tech mktg pieces (the second Real Soon) and will mention a few details on the forum.
I am quite happy for folks to take the content as-is and customize/extend for themselves if they wish - open-sourced tech marketing. Kind of a cool idea, so long as I can keep from being sued ....
My goal certainly is for YOU (and you and you) to sell through to the client pool you know intimately, Specializing what I’ve done (even if just a few phrases), slicking up the formatting, etc. for your specific clients/prospects is a nifty idea.
I’ll put the pedal to the metal on that by posting a downloadable version where the formatting/text can be grabbed as desired.
