EE Insider Tips: View Files in 1.6.8
Alright ExpressionEngine devs, Jason Ferell has contributed a great tip for using view files in 1.6.8:
With EE 1.6.8, we now have the ability to use view files in modules and that’s great news for add-on developers. Recently I wanted to use view files for an extension I was developing but the EE docs don’t contain a way to do that. Specifically, I wanted to use view files for the extension settings form and for the contents of the publish tab for the extension. Here’s a snippet of how to use view files in a custom extension:
$DSP->body .= $DSP->view(PATH_EXT.'ext_widget/ext_settings.php', $vars, TRUE);I created a folder called ext_widget to hold my view files, keeping the view file separated from other extension files.

For much of his life, Rimsky-Korsakov combined his composition and teaching with a career in the Russian military—as an officer in the Imperial Russian Navy, then as the civilian Inspector of Naval Bands. He wrote that he developed a passion for the ocean in childhood from reading books and hearing of his older brother’s exploits in the navy. This love of the sea might have influenced him to write two of his best-known orchestral works, the musical tableau Sadko (not his later opera of the same name) and Scheherazade. Through his service as Inspector of Naval Bands, Rimsky-Korsakov expanded his knowledge of wind and brass playing, which enhanced his abilities 650-621 in orchestration. He passed this knowledge to his students, and also posthumously through a textbook on orchestration that was completed by his son-in-law Maximilian Steinberg.

American Beauty is a 1999 drama film directed by Sam Mendes and written by Alan Ball. Kevin Spacey stars mcsa 2008 as Lester Burnham, a middle-aged office worker who has a midlife crisis when he becomes infatuated with his daughter’s best friend; Annette Bening, Thora Birch, Mena Suvari, Wes Bentley, Chris Cooper and Allison Janney also feature. American Beauty was Mendes’ film directorial debut and Ball’s first film screenplay. DreamWorks bought his spec script for $250,000 and financed the $15 million production. Courted by the studio after a run of successful theater productions, Mendes was nevertheless only given the job after several “A-list” directors turned it down. Released in late 1999, American Beauty was the best-reviewed American film of the year and grossed over $350 million worldwide.
